To apply for the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) and receive payments for surplus electricity exported to the grid from your renewable energy installation, ensure you have the following documents and information:
- Export Meter Point Administration Number (MPAN):
- What It Is: A unique 13-digit number identifying your export connection.
- Where to Find It: If you’re already exporting with another supplier, it can be found on your electricity bill. If you don’t have one, you can leave this section blank in your application; your chosen SEG supplier can assist in obtaining it.
- Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) Certificate Number:
- What It Is: Proof that your renewable energy installation meets industry standards.
- Where to Find It:
- Physical Copy: Typically provided in the welcome pack from Pye Homes.
- Digital Copy: You might access it by logging into your account. Visit Spaciable Homeowner Login to retrieve your certificate.
- If Unavailable: Contact your original installer to request a copy. If they’re unreachable, the MCS Helpdesk can assist. More information is available on the MCS Certificate Queries page.
- Distribution Network Operator (DNO) Notification:
- What It Is: Confirmation that your local DNO has been informed of your renewable energy installation.
- How to Obtain It:
- Installer Responsibility: Your installer should have notified the DNO and provided you with a confirmation letter which can be obtained by writing to dno@eco2solar.co.uk
- Direct Contact: If you don’t have this letter, you can determine your DNO using the Energy Networks Association’s DNO search tool and contact them directly to obtain the necessary confirmation.
